Fibre Syrup Sauce 350mL
Fibre Syrup Sauces to Make Your Stuff Taste Good!Sweet, versatile sauces made with an IMO fibre syrup base.
NZProtein Fibre Syrup Sauce is a thick, sweet sauce made predominantly from IMO (isomalto-oligosaccharide) fibre syrup.
IMO is naturally sweet and provides dietary fibre, making it a great base for a sauce that can be drizzled over desserts, added to breakfasts, used in baking or incorporated into savoury meals.
Our sauces are simple, versatile and packed with flavour — without relying on large amounts of sugar traditionally found in many syrups and sauces.
A Fibre Syrup Base
The main ingredient in our sauces is isomalto-oligosaccharide (IMO) syrup.
IMO provides dietary fibre and gives the sauces their characteristic thick, syrupy consistency and natural sweetness.
Each flavour has been developed to give you an easy way to add extra flavour to everyday foods — whether you're making protein pancakes for breakfast, dressing up a dessert or adding sweet chilli to dinner.
Flavours
There's an option for both sweet and savoury foods -
- Maple Syrup Flavour - a classic maple-style syrup that's ideal over pancakes, waffles, oats, yoghurt and desserts.
- Caramel -rich caramel flavour that works brilliantly with protein mousse, ice cream, oats, baking and desserts.
- Berry - a sweet berry sauce for yoghurt, pancakes, desserts, baking and anywhere you'd normally use a fruit-style syrup.
- Sweet Chilli - our savoury option. Try it with roast vegetables, meat, salads, stir-fries, wraps and sandwiches.
Less Sugar Than Traditional Syrup
Traditional maple syrup contains approximately 60g of sugar per 100g, whereas our Fibre Syrup Sauce contains approximately 5.6g of sugar per 100g.*
That makes Fibre Syrup Sauce a useful alternative when you want the sweetness and texture of a syrup without the large amount of sugar found in traditional maple syrup.
*Values vary slightly between flavours. See the Nutritional Information panel for the selected flavour.

I feel like it could really use some stevia or another sugar alternative to sweeten it.
On the plus side, low calories and seems to have a surprising amount of fiber in it too.
I might try the other flavours in future, but unless the maple syrup one is sweetened, I won't be buying that again.
I have thrown both of them out.
I'm interested to see if the other flavours will be nice, however don't want to risk spending more on something that may turn out unpalatable for me
- Great to mix with other sauces for a bit of sweetness or substitute for traditional sweet chili sauce in recipes
- Doesn't have too great digestive impact from artificial sweeteners
Cons:
- More like sweet sauce (with some savoury chili hit somewhere)
- Syrup-like can be hard to even spread across meal
