Protein-Chocolate, Low-Cal Sauce

Protein Pikelets

Breakfast just got better! Go have some nice chocolate filled protein pikelets and start the day with gains.


  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 2 scoops plant based protein (we used faba - banana)
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100ml plant based milk (we used almond milk)
  • 1 egg
  • NZProtein Chocolate bar
  • NZProtein Low-Cal Sauce (maple) to taste

  1. Add all ingredients (except chocolate and syrup) to a blender. Blitz until combined and add more water/milk if needed. 
  2. In a medium heat frying pan spoon mixture into pikelet sized circles. Add a singular square of chocolate to the centre of each then cover with a dollop of mixture. 
  3. Allow bubbles to form on the surface before flipping. Ensure pikelets are cooked through before removing from heat (they will turn a golden brown in colour). 
  4. Drizzle with NZProtein maple syrup and other desired toppings and enjoy.
