It has long been used as a breakfast staple, baby food, or gentle recovery meal, but in recent years has gained popularity in the fitness and bodybuilding communities due to its excellent digestibility, versatility, and rapid absorption.
Unlike whole grains or fibrous carbohydrate sources, Cream of Rice is extremely low in fat and fibre, making it ideal for those who need a fast-digesting fuel source before or after workouts, or for individuals with sensitive stomachs.
How to Prepare
- Add entire sachet (50g) to a bowl.
- Slowly whisk in 200-250ml of boiling water or hot milk.
- Sit 1-2 minutes to thicken, stir and eat.
You can adjust the liquid for a thinner or thicker consistency.
Optional add-ins:
- Stir in a scoop of protein powder or liquid egg whites for added protein
- Add fruit, nut butter, or yoghurt to create a balanced meal
- Mix with cinnamon, honey, or fruit powders for extra flavour.
